I want to remind Okun nation of some basic facts expected to guide our decision making come February 16, 2019 when we shall be voting for another president.

We have it on record that during Obasanjo/ Atiku tenure as President and Vice President respectively (1999-2007), Okun people were the envy of our brothers in north central. We were first class citizens of Nigeria.

That was a time you will raise your head so high to say “I am from Okun”.

The Obasanjo/Atiku government favored our people. The government was about merit and we have them in abundance. We had first class ministers in juicy ministries overseeing important agencies, we had the prestigious deputy chief of staff who was a center of attention in government, we had media adviser to the president, we had heads of agencies and so on.

Within the eight years Obasanjo/Atiku held sway, Okun nation had the likes of General David Jemibewon serving as Minister for Police Affairs, Mr. Kola Jamodu as Minister for Industries, Chief Bayo Ojo as Minister of Justice/Attorney General of the Federation, Prof. Eyitayo Lambo as Minister for Health. None was a junior minister.

Atiku himself love our people. He was in Ayetoro Gbede, Ijumu local government during the thanksgiving of our leader, Prince Olusola Akanmode and he donated generously to our course.

What am I driving at? Baba Obasanjo and Atiku are on the same page as to who to rule this country as president come February 16. These are people who know us a race. We are just five local government and yet we are giant and mightier than so many states because those in power love us.

We have another opportunity to bring back the good old days, we must not vote for PDP, APC or ADC this time, we must vote for Okun interest as represented in Atiku’s candidature whose party is the PDP.

These are people who has demonstrated love for us in the past. It is time to reciprocate by voting for Atiku massively so we can reap bountiful harvest.

I am not writing this as a PDP member but as true son of Okun who desire to see a brighter future. Let us ponder on this and make the right choice.

God bless Okun Kingdom.
