Rep Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro federal constituency of Kogi State has called on Muslim faithfuls to strive and adopt the virtuous life of total obedience, love, justice, and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, a virtue he described as the reason for Eid-el Kabir.
In a statement released on Saturday, the honorable Rep said the observance of such virtues will take the constituency and indeed, the nation to the Promised Land.
The rep said: “The Eid-el Kabir is an opportunity for us as Muslims and indeed all constituents to reflect on the state of affairs in the land and strive in the right direction to turn the fortunes of the people, especially women and underprivileged around.
“I congratulate the entire Muslim Ummah and I urge us to adopt these great virtues of Prophet Ibrahim which is of total obedience, love, justice, and self-sacrifice. In so doing, let us equally learn to make only promises that we know we can keep.
“I have no doubt that with prayers and the right stewardship which is phenomenal of capacity building, our constituency is poised to emerge stronger at the end of the term.”
The Federal lawmaker then wished the Muslim faithful and the country a happy Eid-el-Kabir.
