2019 Sallah Celebration: Idah Reps Member Distributes N20m Worth of Food Items, Rams

Muslims in Idah federal consistency smiled home on Saturday as the member representing the constituency at the House of Representative, Hon David Idris Zacharias,  distributed items worth over twenty million naira to constituents for the celebration of the 2019 Sallah festival.

Items such as rice, rams, spices, cash donations to some and other sundry materials were distributed to constituents irrespective of party lines. 

Although the items were distributed on the eve of sallah, Christians who are members of the APC were not left out of the gesture when it was time for party members to be treated in their capacity as party members.

Hon. Zacharias while speaking with journalists,  said the gesture was his modest contributions towards making the festival memorable for his constituents, especially those who could afford the means to celebrate.

The lawmaker said he has over the years  ensured that widows, orphans and the less privileged   have reason to celebrate during festivities, adding that it has nothing to do with politics.

Although Zacharias said he appreciates the contributions of party members to his election, he however said the sallah items was not distributed based on party support.

He urged the people to remain faithful to the party, the APC, assuring them of better days ahead.

Local government party chairman of the APC, in Ofu located government,  Shagari Yahaya, commended the lawmaker for his effort like he has always done before he was elected.

Shagari reiterated his resolve to always mobilize his followers whenever their  support is needed, noting that the lawmaker has been so wonderful to the people, a character that was reworded during the last election.

The items distributed include two hundred and fifty rams, three thousand bags of rice, nd can support worth one million naira to physically challenged, gifted persons and some vulnerable members of the consistency cutting cross Idah, Ibaji, Igalamela/Odolu d Ofu local government area, political organizations, social groups, pressure groups and some religious leaders.
