Edge Drive Hotel Identifies With Kogi Flood Victims, Donate Relief Materials

The management of Edgedrive Hotel, Lokoja, has sympathized with victims of current flood disaster in the state.

The Managing Director, Alhaji Aliyu Badaki, made this known when the management of the hotel donated relief matrials to victims in the state in Lokoja on Tuesday.

Alh. Aliyu noted that the hotel decided to identify with the government and people of Kogi state over the unfortunate disaster, pointing put that hospitality can only thrive when the people are happy.

He sympathized with the flood victims and commended the State Commissioner of Environment, Chief Victor Omofaiye, for his dedication to duty.

The Managing Director of Edgedrive Hotel said the donation was part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).

While receiving the package, Kogi State Commissioner of Environment, Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye said Edgedrive is the first hotel in the state to identify with flood victims with the donation of relief materials.

According to him, “Edge Drive is the first hotel to donate relief materials to Kogi flood victims. You have not disappointed us during this trying moment.”

He assured that the items will be distributed accordingly, stating that government will continue to partner with Edgedrive Hotel to enable them achieve its hospitality set goals.

The Commissioner pointed out that the first time flood occurred in the State was in 1936, saying this year’s disaster is the most devastating with thousands of houses and farmlands submerged.

Chief Omofaiye explained that the lasting solutions to the annual flood is proper dredging of River Niger as well as construction of dams in the state.
