COVID-19: Ooni of Ife Donates Locally Fabricated Modular Fumigators to Kogi Govt

The Ooni of Ile-Ife, HRM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on Monday, donated two locally fabricated modular fumigators to Kogi state government.

The fumigators were received by the Deputy Governor, and Chairman of Kogi State Covid-19 Squadron Committee, Chief Edward David Onoja at the Government House in Lokoja.

According to the representative of the monarch, the fumigators were part of Ooni’s Covid-19 intervention to ward off the pandemic.

He stated that the Ooni believes the fight against Covid-19 pandemic is a collective one and shouldn’t be left to the government alone.

The fumigators were invented by the House of Oduduwa and fabricated at the Ooni’s palace in Ile-Ife with 100 percent locally-sourced materials.

Ooni said that he hopes that his contribution will add to the effort of the state government in combating the covid-19 pandemic.

Reacting, the Chairman of Kogi State Covid-19 Squadron Committee, Chief Edward Onoja expressed gratitude to the Ooni for his humane gesture and for stretching his hand of fellowship across the Niger.

He assured that the fumigators will be put into effective use.

The items received were latter handed over to the state ministry of environment.
