Children’s Day: Igalamela-Odolu to Reduce Out of School Children

The Administrator of Igalamela-Odolu local government area, Hon. Patrick Onogu has called for collective efforts by stakeholders in the education sector towards ensuring momentous reduction in the number of out-of-school children in the local government.

He made the call as part of his message to commemorate the 2019 Children’s Day celebration.

“Because of the importance of education to children (as adults of tomorrow), there is an urgent need for the government, private sector, religious bodies and NGOs to work more concertedly in order to reduce the figures of out of school children to its barest minimum in Igalamela/Odolu local government area. 

“This can be achieved by taking necessary steps towards making education more attractive for children in both public and private schools in the area,” he said.

Hon. Onogu congratulated children across the world on the celebration and asured the people of his willingness to partner with relevant agencies in order to ensure the growth of education in the local government area. 

He also lauded Governor Yahaya Bello’s for recording appreciable achievements in the education sector especially the construction of blocks of classrooms and provision of instruction materials to primary and secondary schools in the area which according to the Administrator plays a big role in the provision of befitting environment for learning.
