A group, Integrity Watch Nigeria, has described calls for a fresh election in Kogi State as an expression of ignorance that cannot be allowed to stand.
The group in a statement by its coordinator, Comrade Omale John Ayegba, said Kogi has a duly elected governor hence would amount to anarchy for anybody to call for a fresh election in that respect.
Last week another group under the aegis of the Justice and Good Governance in Kogi State led by Umar Goodman Akwu called for a fresh guber election in Kogi State.
The Integrity watch Nigeria which said it is reacting to this call warned against misinforming or inciting the public saying it would not hesitate to resist any attempt to usher in a regima pof chaos in the state.
“Any attempt by this so called Akwu group to undermine the Supreme Court judgment that validated and affirmed the authenticity of Governor Idris Wada’s mandate will be resisted. To question the legality of Wada’s governorship by comparing it with Bayelsa, Adamawa, Cross or River shows that this group is far from reality.
