The Win With Tinubu (WWT) Grassroots Mobilisation Programme for Kogi State has formally expressed its dismay over a recent Federal High Court judgment regarding the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Kogi West Senatorial District.
The ruling, delivered by Hon. Justice Salim Olasupo Ibrahim in the legal suit instituted by Hon. Samuel Bamidele Aro against Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, has been described by the group as flawed and a deliberate attempt to undermine the mandate freely given by party faithfuls.
In an official statement released by the State Program Coordinator, Sani Philips, the political organization affirmed that while it notes the court’s decision with respect, it views the judgment as a needless distraction aimed at denying All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Kogi West their democratic choice.

According to the group, Senator Karimi emerged victorious in the party’s senatorial primary election held on May 18, 2026, which was conducted in strict adherence to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act, the APC Constitution, and the guidelines issued by the National Working Committee.
The group faulted the trial judge’s verdict, claiming that the court contradicted established legal principles and previous judgments delivered by the same court.
Despite the setback, the mobilization group assured the public and supporters across the state that Senator Karimi’s legal team has already initiated appellate processes to challenge and set aside the Federal High Court’s decision.
The organization maintained that Senator Karimi remains the authentic, duly nominated, and validly elected APC candidate for Kogi West ahead of the 2027 general elections pending the outcome at the Court of Appeal.
Drawing parallels to previous intra-party rivalries, the statement noted that a similar situation had occurred during the primary process when Hon. Samuel Bamidele Aro’s name was submitted despite non-participation. That action was subsequently overturned by the APC’s National Appeal Committee, which affirmed Senator Karimi’s victory and submitted his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The group reiterated that the will of the majority of APC members and delegates in Kogi West cannot be easily set aside, urging party supporters across Kogi State to remain calm, patient, and confident in the appellate court’s ability to deliver justice.
The statement concluded with an assurance that the Win With Tinubu program, sponsored by Senator Karimi in his capacity as the Chief Grassroots Mobilizer for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Kogi State, will continue its ward-level mobilization drives uninterrupted to secure victories for the President and all APC candidates in the state.
