Federal Projects in Kogi State Will Not Be Abandoned – Wada

Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada has charged people of the State to keep faith with the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, assuring that all federal projects in the State will not be abandoned.

Capt. Idris Wada stated this at the burial, outing and thanksgiving service of Chief Isaiah Aro, father of a former House of Reps member, Bamidele Aro, held at the Ist ECWA church, Odo Eri in Yagba West Local Government area of Kogi State.

The Governor who was represented at the occasion by the Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi said the commitment of the Federal Government to complete projects in the state has been visible in the Ilorin – Kabba Federal road. The Governor said contractors have already been mobilized to site assuring that the road will be delivered in record time.

According to him, “As we are coming here today, contractors and their equipment are already at Aiyetoro Gbede. Not only that, they have started clearing the road; this is an evidence that the road will not be abandoned.
The Jonathan administration is a government that we should keep faith with. Ours is a party that does not renege on its promises. When we say yes we mean yes.”

Wada admonished people of the area to ignore rumour making the round that the proposed Ilorin – Kabba Road will be abandoned as has been widely speculated by mischief makers. He expressed confidence that President Jonathan will complete the road on schedule.

The governor also appealed to the people to strive towards healthy living saying such will make them live long in good health just like the deceased who died at the ripe age of 110 years, and was still strong until his death.

The governor also promised that the State government will take responsibility for the medical expenses of a boy with strange illness who needed N2 million for surgery outside the country,describing the present administration in the state as one that is people centered.

Earlier, Rev. Dr. John. S. Owoeye in his sermon, “Reality of Eternity”, called on the poeple to dedicate themselves to the work of God and mankind as a way of preparing for life after.

Rev. Owoeye who is the South West Regional Evangelist of ECWA eulogised the late Aro and said his service to God was unpresedented in the area. The clergyman called on the people to acknowledge that life is temporary no matter how sweet it may be as everybody some day die to face God’s judgment, urged the people to strive for eternity as reason for been on earth.

One of the son of the deceased, Hon. Sam Bamidele Aro, a former House of Reps member who spoke on behalf of the family said they will continue to remember their father for his dedication to the work of God and his stand for the truth.

People from all works of life cutting across various political sphere who were in attendance to bid the late Aro farewell include; the Speaker of the House of Representative, Hon. Waziri Tambuwal, former SSG, Musa Ahmodu, Shola Ojo, Gen (rtd) David Jemibewon, Hon. Buba Jibril, Hon. Abiodun Ojo, Hon. Dino Melaye, Bamidele Sure, former acting Governor; Clarence Olafemi and Hon.  T. J Faniyi amidst others.
