The Women Progressive  Association  of Nigeria (WPAN), Kogi State Chapter, has thrown its weight behind Hon. Muhammad  Mabo Kasim’s aspiration to contest the Lokoja-Kogi House of Representatives bye-election.
The group made its stand known at her monthly meeting in Lokoja today.
The National President of the group, Hajiya Halima Isah declared that WPAN is solidly behind Mabo in his quest to fill the vacuum left by the sad demise of late Bub Jibril.
“Even if Hon. Mabo decided not to contest we will persuade him. Majority of our women are in support of his aspirations because of his quality and humane disposition,” she said.
Also speaking, Secretary of the Forum, Mrs.  Agnes Durodola said the emergence of Hon. Muhammad Mabo Kasim as the next House of Reps member will turn Lokoja /Kogi Federal Constituency around. Declaring further, she said the forum is anxiously waiting for the political party platform Mabo will contest on.
“The forthcoming coming bye-election is not about political party, it’s about credibility of the candidate, that’s why we declared our support for Mabo even before he declared for any political party,” She enthused.
The group also urged Nigerians to go out and register as voter in the ongoing continuous voters’ registration exercise and cast their votes for Muhammad Mabo Kasim during the yet-to-be- scheduled bye-election for a better Nigeria in particular and Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency in general.
The meeting which took place at NUJ Press Centre, Lokoja had all the representatives across the 21 wards that made up the Federal Constituency in attendance.
