The ‘second leg’ of the ongoing legal tussle between the incumbent governor, Captain Idris Wada and the governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Prince Abubakar Audu will climax tomorrow at the Court of Appeal.

Audu is challenging the declaration of Wada as the duly elected governor of Kogi  State in the December 3, 2011 governorship election.

The governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Lokoja had upheld the election of Wada as the duly elected governor of Kogi State but Audu and his party, ACN, approached the Appeal Court to reverse the judgement of the tribunal.

At the hearing on tuesday, the Appeal Court consolidated the cases of Audu and ACN and fixed saturday for judgement.

A favourable judgement for Wada will go along way in stabilizing his yet-to-stablize government while an unfavorable judgement will surely ignite flurry of political permutations especially by politicians who worked hard for Wada’s emergence and felt abandoned by the recent appointment of commissioners.
