The SDP Candidate in the last Kogi gubernatorial election, Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti has congratulated Muslims all over the world and called for increased spirit of sacrifice and selflessness towards building a better world for humanity.

Akpoti made the call in her felicitation message to Muslims across Kogi State, Nigeria and worldwide as they celebrate Sallah (Eid Al-Adha) in commemoration of willingness to sacrifice in obedience to the will of God.

The festival which enshrines in it; Eid prayers, animal sacrifice, charity, social gatherings, festive meals, gift-giving, is the second of the two Islmamic holidays celebrated nationwide.

Akpoti noted that there can never be a better world without the actions of those who are ready to sacrifice and undergo pains for the fear of God and for the good of others.

“This is not limited to leaders or followers; the poor or the rich; everyone owe it a duty to render empathy to humanity in whichever little way they can,” she said.

She drew minds to the words of Nelson Henderson which says that “the true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.”

While wishing Muslims worldwide happy sallah celebration, Akpoti urged that the health safety measures be maintained against the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Let us not be carried away by the whole merriment of this holy season and forget the word ravaging corona virus and the various measures against its spread,” she added.
