Musa Olumayowa Yakubu (MOY), the candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Ijumu State Constituency II in the 2027 elections, has used the occasion of his birthday to reaffirm his commitment to the people of the constituency, describing the day as a moment dedicated to “laying a solid foundation for a better and more prosperous Ijumu State Constituency II.”

In a statement released to mark the celebration, Yakubu said he had chosen to see the day not merely as one of personal celebration but as an opportunity to rededicate himself to public service. He said his ambition to represent the constituency is rooted in a desire to deliver purposeful representation, accountability, accessibility and meaningful development to residents.

“Politics should be about service, not self-interest; about building bridges, not walls; and about creating opportunities for our youths, women, farmers, entrepreneurs and vulnerable members of our communities,” Yakubu said, outlining the values he says will guide his prospective representation.

The aspirant, who is positioning his campaign under the banner “MOY 2027 — The Right Voice for Ijumu State Constituency II,” said his vision centres on collective progress, noting that with divine support and the backing of the people, the groundwork can be laid today for the Ijumu that residents hope to see in the future.

He closed the message with a personal note of gratitude for another year of life, alongside a fresh pledge of dedication to the people of the constituency.

Yakubu’s statement comes as political actors across the state continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections, with aspirants increasingly using personal milestones to reinforce campaign messaging and community engagement.
