It is no longer news that for sheer political participation, the power that be in Kogi state and the lords of Lugard House have ganged up against the will of the people of Kogi East, particularly the people of Igala speaking area as the main target, to decimate and devour using its own internal instrumentality to carry out the dastardly acts.
This script was played by the leadership of the present administration in Kogi in conjunction with some self seeking elements from Kogi East, test running their evil act to destroy the political leadership built overtime by the Igala nation in Kogi state.
This time around, it is not the government induced and well orchestrated “Otoge” slogan in Kwara, geared towards moving the mantle of leadership from the people to the APC led federal government under the guise of Saraki dynasty control of Kwara, or the popular slogan of Lagosians and settlers to eject the monopoly of leadership from the Tinubus, but designed ‘thuggeocracy’ and fascist cum forceful control of the will of Kogi easterners from making its choice of political advancement, to political retrogression.
In doing this, the state government apparatus under the APC gathered good hands from the Igala race and worst of all, set the traditional class against the people, who ordinarily are supposed to be custodian of our culture, to demean the prestige and inherited image attached to the stool to achieve their selfish ends.
This became realisable after an irredeemable and tenured damages has been inflicted on the Igala race by disenfranchisement and denial to make a choice of political administration through the application of thugs and thuggery activities sponsored by the state government whose roles, ordinarily, were supposed to be the chief security officer of the state.
The reality became dawn on us when all the nine local government areas in Kogi East, the ninth largest ethnic group in Nigeria, was overrun by the indigenous thugs recruited by the state government including local government administrators, governor’s aides and commissioners openly displayed guns in ranges of AK47, pump action rifles and other sophisticated weapons to kill and maim members of the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This trend became apparent and uncomfortable both locally and internationally, that made the paramount ruler of the Igala kingdom to convene a special “curse session” to rain all sorts of “curse” on the perpetrators and their accomplices within and outside Igala kingdom, with retrospective effects on the connivers and their executors, with APC members as the grand masters.
The current paramount ruler of Igala land, Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni 11, is a direct son of the late popular and former Attah of Igala, Ameh Oboni, known for no nonsense acts and decisions six centuries ago. That instructive and commando decision and actions still lies on his son, but played down by modernity.
Bitterly, Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni 11 dwelt exhaustively on the consequences that will befall deviants, perpetrators and accomplices of the act and subsequent ones, particularly those with the intentions of carrying arms and ammunitions against the son of the soil in Igala land, rather than protecting same.
It was that bad, that the Chief of Staff to Kogi governor took arm against his brother, a serving senator, Atai Aidoko Ali, through thuggery at Okpo collation centre to favour a governor of Ebira extraction, all in the name of delivering Kogi East to his master.
Now that curses has been rained and transmitted to the entire nooks and crannies of Kogi East, it is again in the public knowledge that the unpopular APC government have devised another means of proxy attacks on the PDP supporters and its stakeholders in the upcoming March 9 elections by importing thugs from neighbouring states, using security agents like the Army, Police, Navy, DSS, Air force that have relegated themselves as willing tools to achieve cheap political success in Kogi state.
The implications of the uttered curse by interpretation is divergent on the generality of the people, be it leaders, indigenes, non indigenes and their accomplices, as nobody born of man or woman or earth will escape the wrath of the curse mentioned by the paramount ruler on his father’s stool.
It is now left for the APC leaders, supporters and members as well as candidates from Kogi East and by extension the state government sponsored hooligans that often hide under mass withdrawal of security agents from Igala/Bassa land to enable their mercenaries unleash terror on the hapless people to contend with the historic curse reeled out to protect the interest and ensure a well secured Igala nation from political erosion.
The Igala race has been decimated, decapitated and dehumanized through the thuggery activities of the state government that led to the imposition of people with questionable characters on the people of Kogi East. They intend to continue in that trend through connivance by some disgruntled and sell out elements as well as power drunk entities among the thriving race. We are pacified and relieved by the curse of Agabaidu, though the APC led state government has vowed to continue with the formulae and embracing the window of the federal government policies to militarise some opposition leading states, to ensure the imposition of APC candidates in the upcoming elections. But we are covered by our ancestors and under the protection of almighty God from the evil machinations of the state governemt and its agents, from within and outside the state.
Akpane Igala, Ane A’kpa. Those whose intention is to decimate the Igala race shall be consumed by the same act.
