The initiator and founder of Okun Daughters Forum, Yeye Aaremo Oluwakemi Seyi-Ayodele has congratulated Senator Dino Melaye, Hon. Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf and Elder Leke Abejide on their victories at the just concluded National Assembly elections to represent their constituencies.
According to her, the platform, though non-political, yet find it fit to congratulate the the federal legislators for coming out victoriously in their elections and wish to identify with whoever God has given the privilege to represent the good people of Okun nation.
Yeye Aaremo stated that the group in her vision amongst others is to act and offer good representation and voice for Okun women in politics, academics, business and other areas of human endeavours within and outside Kogi State so as to ensure gender equality.
In her statement, Yeye Aaremo Oluwakemi Seyi-Ayodele said that the group is very delighted to know that these trio have won the elections for the Senate and the two Federal House of Representatives seats from Okun and Kogi West Senatorial District.
“Your victories with a large majority has filled us with immense joy. We therefore take this opportunity to congratulate you on your well deserved successes. You all have undoubtedly worked very hard to achieve these positions. Your commitment and dedication has helped you attain these posts and we do have confidence that you will be able to put many things back on track now.
“You are the perfect candidates for these posts. All your hard work has been paid off. The zeal to do something for the good people of your varioys constituencies and masses of our Federal Constituencies and senatorial district has made your winning the elections more realistic.
“We hope you easily fulfill all your promises and shine brightly in the future. Wishing you all the best for your noble future endeavors,” she said.
She, however, made an appeal to the representatives to identify with the main objectives of the forum.
“Our objectives, first, is to contribute positively to the development of Okun land. To work towards achieving equality, equity and justice in all areas of human endeavour. To fight for the right of Okun daughters in the right position and seats of authority. To hold higher purpose events that serves our Okun communities and take our mission beyond Okun land. To empower and train Okun women towards becoming global leaders. To collaborate and have successful relationships with men’s organizations aligned with our purpose, with the hope and expectations that these can form part of their priorities.”
