Founded by local businessmen, politicians, technocrats and qualified personal trainers, the Confluence Fitness Centre Lokoja, yesterday, marked the 2018/2019 fitness and wellness season party.
Since opening, the fitness centre which is located at Lokoja Club 1901 premises with highly qualified and experienced trainers has become a big hit with residents from Lokoja and beyond exercising at the centre every week.
Since its inception, the centre has offered an expanding range of services with the focus being on total body workouts. Alongside this, they also offer body metric testing to help people understand more about their body composition, rather than just weight alone.
Hon. Sulaiman Aguye, a founding member of the centre, while speaking with this reporter on the benefits of regular exercise, said the benefits of regular exercise can be life changing.
“This first year has been an amazing journey and we have been so pleased to see so many members achieving their personal fitness goals”, he said
Hadi Lawal, Chairman sub- committee on publicity said the confluence fitness centre is totally focused on its members becoming fit, healthy and confident, stressing that he is proud of what the centre has achieved so far.
President of the club, Alhaji Aliyu Musa Amuwo aka Gambo, said the club was formed by members with the aim of seeing to the wellbeing of all through fitness and other aerobic exercise.
Gambo, who appealed to the general public to register with the centre, explained that seeing people looking healthy makes him happy.
“Just seeing people look and feel so much better for exercising and regaining their confidence has given me and my team a huge sense of satisfaction.”
He enumerated the challenges facing the club to include, finance and training equipment.
The president appealed to the state government to assistant the club with an ambulance and other training equipment.
Some of the activities lineup to mark the events includes, five aside football match, where five teams played with team two emerging the overall winner and a trophy was presented to the victorious team the president of the centre.
The club also organized a party for it members and other invited guests at Lokoja club 1901 to mark the season.
