All is now set for the 2017 Budget review conference organised by the Federated Chapel of the Kogi State NUJ.
The conference on Kogi State Budget 2017 with the theme, ” Making Budget 2017 Work for Kogi People”, comes up on Thursday, the 19th January.
In a statement signed by Abu Michael, Chairman of the Chapel, the Conference will be under the Chairmanship of Dr John Alabi, with the Budget and Planning Commissioner, Hon Kehinde Oloruntoba, as Special Guest of Honour.
The Conference which will begin at 10:00am will feature paper presentation for discussion by several resource persons representing various Ministries, Department and Agencies, on the 2017 Kogi State Budget.
Some of those to present papers at the conference include; The Special Adviser, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Director General, Grassroots Mobilization and Information, Director General, Bureau of Public Procurement and the Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue.
Other Speakers expected at the conference will be Hon Victor Omofaiye, of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Comrade Ali Atabor, Comrade Idris Miliki of the Centre for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution and Joel Temitope, of the Kogi State Polytechnic.
The Conference whose objective aims at providing workable mechanism to monitor the successful implementation of the 2017 Budget, is expected to proffer further solutions that will ensure the making and participation of citizens in the State’s future budget preparation and implementation.
