Kogi State chapter of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNAW) has called on the state government to take steps to meet the infrastructural needs and inadequate manpower in the health sector.

The association’s chairperson, Comrade Lilian Kanjuni, who made the call yesterday in Lokoja, during an interactive session with journalists, said health institutions, especially hospitals in rural areas are under staffed. She said they are operating below the standard of the World Health Organization (WHO) of a ratio of one nurse to four patients.
