The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has congratulated Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide on his landslide victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives Primary Election for Yagba Federal Constituency, describing the outcome as “an expected reward for performance, accessibility and impactful representation.”
Fanwo, who spoke with journalists shortly after the conclusion of the exercise on Saturday, said the people of Mopamuro Local Government Area had spoken with one voice in support of “a man who has completely changed the colour and meaning of representation in Yagba Federal Constituency.”
According to him, the overwhelming support recorded by Abejide across the ten wards in Mopamuro was a clear indication that the people appreciate quality leadership and visible democratic dividends.

“We have ten wards in Mopamuro Local Government Area and Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide recorded a landslide victory across all the wards. About 92 percent of those who came out to vote freely and enthusiastically voted for him. That is not just victory; it is a loud and unmistakable endorsement of performance,” he said.
Fanwo noted that the primary election was peaceful, transparent and reflective of the wishes of party members at the grassroots, adding that the outcome has once again demonstrated the growing confidence of the people in Abejide’s style of leadership.
He commended members of the All Progressives Congress in Mopamuro and the entire Yagba Federal Constituency for conducting themselves responsibly throughout the process, stressing that internal democracy remains one of the strongest pillars of the APC.
The Commissioner said Abejide’s popularity was not built on empty political promises but on years of visible projects, empowerment programmes, educational support, community interventions and constant engagement with the people.
“Politics is ultimately about impact. The people know those who remember them only during elections and those who stand with them at all times. Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide has built a strong connection with the grassroots through service, compassion and commitment to development. That is why the people have once again renewed their confidence in him,” he added.
Fanwo further described the primary election as a victory for democracy and for the ordinary people whose voices were clearly reflected in the outcome of the poll.
He expressed confidence that the APC would emerge stronger after the exercise and go into the general election united and focused, urging party members and supporters to continue to work together in the collective interest of the party and the development of Yagba Federal Constituency.
The Commissioner also praised the electoral committee, security agencies and party stakeholders for ensuring a credible and peaceful process, saying their professionalism contributed significantly to the success of the exercise.
He prayed for greater wisdom and strength for Rt. Hon. Abejide as he prepares for the next phase of the electoral process, expressing optimism that the lawmaker would continue to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people.
