The Oyine of Ihima Land, Engineer Muritala Salau Audu, has purchased the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) nomination and expression of intent forms for Kogi Central senatorial election.
Speaking shortly after obtaining the forms, Engr. Muritala declared his readiness to correct what he described as years of ineffective leadership and inadequate legislative representation that have slowed the pace of development in Kogi Central.
He promised to redefine leadership through renewed legislative purpose.
According to him, the time has come for visionary leadership anchored on competence, inclusiveness, accountability, and strategic development initiatives capable of repositioning the senatorial district for sustainable growth and prosperity.
Engr. Audu emphasized that his aspiration is driven by a genuine passion to serve the people and restore confidence in democratic representation through quality legislation, effective constituency engagement, empowerment programs, infrastructural advocacy, and youth-centered policies.
He noted that the people of Kogi Central deserve a responsive senator who understands their struggles, identifies with their aspirations, and remains accessible to the grassroots at all times.
Reacting, Comrade Jibril Abbas said the new development has continued to generate excitement and renewed optimism among party faithful, stakeholders, youths, and grassroots supporters across the district, as many describe the emergence of Engr. Muritala Salau Audu as a bold step toward purposeful leadership and people-oriented representation.
“Political observers within the district have described his entrance into the race as a significant boost to the evolving political landscape, citing his track record of community service, leadership experience, and commitment to social advancement as major strengths that distinguish him from other contenders.
“Supporters of the Oyine of Ihima Land have also maintained that his ambition represents a fresh breath of transformational politics aimed at reshaping the district through progressive representation and impactful governance.
“Across communities in Kogi Central, many residents expressed confidence that Engr. Muritala Salau Audu possesses the capacity, courage, and political will to champion the interests of the people at the National Assembly and attract meaningful development projects to the district.
“As consultations and grassroots mobilization intensify ahead of the senatorial contest, the aspiration of Engr.
