The Allied People’s Movement (APM) National Campaign Council (NCC) has charged party stakeholders across the country to intensify grassroots mobilization to secure victory for Governor Seyi Makinde in the 2027 presidential election.
The Director-General of the APM National Campaign Council, Mr. Felix Hassan Hyat, gave the charge on Tuesday during a meeting with party stakeholders from his constituency, Zone III, Kaduna South, at the APM Campaign Office in Abuja.
Addressing the delegates, Mr. Hyat urged party members to rally Nigerians behind Makinde, describing him as a competent and reliable leader capable of addressing the country’s socio-economic challenges. He noted that the current economic hardship, characterized by high levels of hunger and poverty, requires an experienced administrator to steer the nation toward recovery and prevent further distress.

The Campaign Director-General characterized Makinde as a silent achiever whose track record speaks for itself, comparing his governance style to that of former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who delivered significant development without public fanfare.
Mr. Hyat also emphasized the need for political actors to respect the informal power-rotation agreement between the North and the South. He argued that voting Makinde into office would fulfill the South’s eight-year constitutional rotation mandate, asserting that the current administration under President Bola Tinubu has failed to implement effective measures to pull the country out of its economic woes.
Highlighting the party’s presidential ticket, Mr. Hyat expressed confidence in the combined capabilities of Makinde and his running mate, Lawan Daura, noting that Daura’s background as a security expert would be critical in tackling the nation’s security challenges. He called on all stakeholders to mount a vigorous campaign and mobilize voters en masse for the election scheduled for January 16, 2027.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the delegation, the leader of the group and former NUPENG Vice Chairman, Comrade Joseph Ayuba Bako, congratulated Mr. Hyat on his appointment as Director-General. Comrade Bako described the elevation as a proud moment for Zone III and assured the DG of their full backing.
He pledged that the team would intensify outreach efforts across Kaduna South and surrounding areas, promising to deliver a decisive victory for the APM ticket in the upcoming general election.
