Comrade Usman Okai Austin has assured the people of Dekina-Bassa federal constituency of effective representation if given the House of Representatives mandate.
Okai, a reps aspirant under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), gave the assurance on Saturday during a meeting with party delegates at Ologba, Dekina local government area of Kogi state.
In his declaration speech, Okai said he will his youthful energy and new ideas to turn things around in the federal constituency.
“I will hold quarterly town hall meetings to ensure popular views and needs of communities are documented and a follow up to ensure positive action.
“My mission is to give a formidable representation for the good people of Dekina/Bassa at the National Assembly with a view to attracting developmental projects and promoting youth empowerment, reducing crime and guaranteeing adequate human and capital development in the constituency.
“If I get the seat, we will do great exploits. People will see radical changes in the constituency. It won’t be business as usual I assure you,” Okai pledged.
Okai tasked the delegates to think of general election and the candidate with credentials of attracting development into the constituency.
Addressing Journalists after a declaration meeting with delegates, Okai expressed gratitude to the party stakeholders for their encouragement and support, noting that ‘Putting People First’ will continue to be his slogan.
The House of Representatives hopeful who hails from the Emewe Opada in Emewe ward of the Dekina local government area stated that if given the opportunity to serve, he will passionately represent the interest of the good people of Dekina/Bassa, promising that he would not let them down.
