Medical intervention initiative BATMEDICS has launched a nationwide healthcare program aimed at providing free medical outreaches to three million low-income Nigerians, alongside specialist surgical procedures for 6,000 additional beneficiaries, the organization announced in a statement.
The initiative, founded by Barrister Seyi Tinubu, combines broad community-based outreach with specialized clinical care designed to ease financial barriers for vulnerable households across the country.
Under the program’s dual-track framework, general outreaches will deliver free primary medical services and essential surgical interventions directly within communities. Concurrently, BATMEDICS will establish dedicated surgical camps across eight tertiary health institutions spanning Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones to manage complex medical conditions.

The designated tertiary facilities include the National Hospital in Abuja; Lagos University Teaching Hospital; University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu; Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano; Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi; University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital; Federal Medical Centre, Asaba; and the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City.
According to the organization, teams of medical specialists at these host centers will perform critical interventions, including open-heart and renal surgeries, for patients requiring specialized care.
Petra Akinti Onyegbule, Director of Research, Media, and Communication for BATMEDICS, said in a statement that the initiative aims to expand healthcare equity and support national efforts to broaden service access for indigent populations.
The organization noted that further operational details, including implementation timelines, eligibility criteria, and clinical access arrangements, will be released through its official communication channels as logistics are finalized.
