The youngest governorship candidate in the 2019 Kogi gubernatorial election, Comrade Bala Oma, has declared that the next round of elections in the state will not be business as usual.

Speaking to news men in his Odu Akpelu ancestral home in Dekina local government of Kogi state during the yuletide, Bala Oma stated emphatically that the table will against the duo of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023.

“With the level of thuggery and occult activities the duo of APC and PDP have subjected our agile and industrious youths to over the years, the table will turn in 2023 where the youths will look straight into their faces and ask them to go use their children for same purposes.

“We have made great progress in our silent advocacies for youths to shun violence and evil vices and this is gaining tremendous momentum which will reflect in subsequent elections, moving forward,” he said.

Sunday Bala Oma decried the level of hardship amongst Kogites which he said the political class are turning deaf ears to.

“They will rather prefer to wait until the eve of elections to share their godforsaken stipends to gullible electorate, but this, I can assure you, will not be the case come 2023, God sparing our lives.”

Aside the grooming of political thugs by these politicians for their selfish interest, Oma also picked holes in the process of selecting party candidates by these two parties, “which has been largely done by imposition of candidates as well as selling of delegates to the highest bidder. Hence, the reason both APC and PDP top shots are vehemently against direct primaries which is the widely accepted mode of primary election during the recent electoral act amendment process, that is yet to be signed into law.”

“The good news is that Kogites are wiser now as they will focus on a third force political party to achieve their God given alienable rights to choose a leader that will bring them out of the present quagmire, and take them to the promised land.

“With time, the #EndSARS movement, which brought the nation to her knees, will play a major role in ending selfish administrative and reckless services being rendered by the current crop of visionless and purposeless leaders who are either in power, or are waiting to grab power through their usual means. But I can assure you, they shall not succeed.

“Kogi, indeed, shall be great again. But we all have great roles to play to ensure it comes to fruition.”

He called on youths, women and the aged to ensure they register to vote because their vote shall count in 2023.

Bala Oma also admonished youths who are yet to shun thuggery and cultism to join the bandwagon of the new ideology in town, as thuggery and cultism is fast becoming old fashion in Kogi state.
