The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on President Mohammadu Buhari, to call to order Gov Yahaya Bello, over his undue interference in the affairs of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

The State PDP in a statement, signed by Achadu Dickson, Director Research and Documentation of the Party, blamed the governor for the lingering assembly crisis, lamented that despite a Federal High Court Ruling in favour of the Group of 15 lawmakers, for the reinstatement of purportedly impeached leadership of the Hon MomohJimoh Lawal led Assembly, said the governor working in conniavance with the Group of 5 lawmakers, were given protection and allowed into the hallowed chamber by heavily armed soldiers and policemen to hold sitting.

The State PDP says it is worried that as the Governor and the Chief Security Officer of the state, the contempt of the court was masterminded by the governor.

The PDP frowned at the massive shooting by thugs loyal to the government at the Residences of Kogi State lawmakers in the early hours of today, said this is another impunity of the Gov Yahaya Bello administration taken too far.

While noting that the re-introduction of thuggery, violence and flagrant disobedience to the rule of law by the GYB administration calls to question the rule of law and the change mantra, being touted by President Mohammadu Buhari led APC administration.

The State PDP further called on President Mohammadu Buhari to wade into the brazen lawlessness and disregard to the rule of law by the State Governor, in order not to continuously heighten the security situation in the country, and to forestall breakdown of law and order in the once peaceful Kogi State.

While it is regrettable that under the administration of GYB, Kogi State is no doubt is under seige, appealed to the citizens of the state to continue to exercise patience, understanding and perseverance in the midst of the untold hardship caused by unpaid salaries and fear the people now live in.
