Yagba Reps Race: Suspected APC Thugs Attack Abejide’s Supporters, Destroy Billboards in Mopa

Thugs suspected to be supporters of Engr. Folorunsho Olafemi, House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Yagba federal constituency in the February 2023 general elections has attacked supporters of his opponent, Elder Leke Abejide of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

A statement issued by the ADC campaign spokesperson, Abel Shola, said the thugs, who were sighted in a branded APC/Engr. Folorunsho Olafemi Volkswagen car, were said to have destroyed the billboards, posters and other campaign materials of Hon. Makinde Oyebode, House of Assembly candidate of ADC in Mopamuro state constituency and those of Elder Leke Abejide around 9am on Sunday.

The statement further alleged that the thugs also harassed Tope David, a front line supporter of the ADC in the area and destroyed his motorcycle.

“A ladies support group consisting of Motunrayo Joseph, Damilola Ezekiel, Joy Akanbi among several others were also harassed and threatened to leave Mopa for not supporting their candidate.

“The APC branded vehicle was driven by one Ola Joseph (Sufi), in it are other suspected thugs named Segun Alaiyemola (Alfa), Babatunde Matthew (Eja Nla) and Emmanuel Obeleke,” the statement said.
