What would have been a fulfilled year ending for some Kogi State civil servants, led by the State Head of Service, Mrs Deborah Ogunmola, with the payment of salaries from September to December, has however turned sour, as the State Government is said to have ordered them to bow of the state service.

On assumption of office, restructuring the service was one of the thematic area of concentration by Gov Yahaya Bello.
The civil service restructuring has left the service one of the weeping sector of the state economy, as many went through harrowing experience to get cleared during the screening. Others lost their lives to accident, travelling to be screened, while others lost job in the process. Majority others could not get their salaries, owing to delay in payment.
The recent policy of sacking the directors is however the new issue of discussion, while the payment of salaries by percentage is seen as a policy to reduce salaries as coming to stay, with some insiders in government disclosing that it may not be reviewed upward again.
It would be recalled that some permanent secretaries who had their service cut short, have recently dragged the state government to an industrial arbitration court in Lokoja, with hearing fixed for January
