Kogi State chapter of Advanced Peoples Democratic Party (APDA) has announced that it has relocated its secretariat from Ganaja road to Lokongoma in Lokoja, the state capital.

A chieftain of the party, Hon. Abdulmumini Ibrahim told newsmen in Lokoja on Sunday the new secretariat will serve as a clearing house for all party related activities.

He noted that the party reached a decision to quit the former office to allay fears of members who hold the believe that nothing good has come out of all past occupants of the building located along Ganaja road in Lokoja.

Abdulmumini explained that the same building was used in the past as Jonathan/Sambo campaign office before it was taken over by the campaign organization clamouring for the second term election of former Governor Idris Wada.

He added that failure associated with the office complex did not spare a private concern, NIIT, that rented the facility as it failed just like the campaigners that occupied the facility in the past.

He assured Kogi electorate that APDA is poised to win the 2019 general elections in Kogi and will leave no stone unturned in its bid to excel.

The former state lawmaker debunked reports suggesting that APDA is in merger talks with other political parties.

“In the wake of political development in Nigeria and Kogi State in particular, we wish to state that contrary to the insinuations and rumours making the rounds that APDA will merge with other political parties in the forthcoming elections, we wish to state emphatically that the party was not and will not be in merger talks with any political party in the country.
“The party is expecting more persons and political groups. The party assures the general public that APDA is a party that has come to stay and will never sell out as currently perceived by enemies of the party. The party is currently engaging electorates at different levels of discussion and we can assure you that APDA has come to stay and will not merge with any party both at the state and the federal level.
“The party is consolidating its spread in her continuous campaign and propagating its manifesto to the people. We have more than enough aspirants for various political offices and any of the aspirants have the pedigree and competence to win elections come 2019. APDA is ready to run all its elections without compromise or contempt of any sort.
“The party is overwhelmed with the increase in the numbers of new entrants to the party and currently evaluating intending decampees approaching the party. On daily basis, we receive more aspirants who have indicated interest to contest in the party primaries ahead of next year’s general elections.
“APDA currently enjoys the support of electorates who are already tired of APC led State Government, PDP or any other political party in the State.

“I am aware that some parties are seeking to fuse into APDA, but I want to assure our teeming supporters that the proposed fusion will not affect our intellectual property; we will remain APDA, we remain stronger together,” he said.

Abdulmumini called on Kogi state government to come out clean on the allegation of N3 billion fraud in the state revenue board.

He said the continued silence of the state government is worrisome given the weight of the allegations.
