Why is Faleke Embarrassing Himself? by Mohammed James

‘Why is Faleke embarrassing himself?’ is a rhetorical question that needs an urgent answer. I still don’t understand what Faleke is really out for in Kogi state. Honourable James Faleke was imported to Kogi state by late Prince Abubakar Audu, as a deputy governorship candidate on the platform of the All Progressive Congress for the 2015 Kogi state governorship election.

Alhaji Yahaya Bello was nominated as a replacement for late prince Abubakar Audu who died immediately after November 21st governorship election was declared inconclusive by INEC to participate in the supplementary election, being the first runner up in the party’s primary election. The former deputy governorship candidate sues INEC, asking Court to declare him Kogi’s governor claiming a joint ticket with late prince Abubakar Audu. The case is still in court and he (Faleke) will never keep quiet and wait for the judiciary to do its work. Since the nomination of Bello as Audu’s replacement, Faleke develops hatred for the gentle man even when he tries to bring him closer, thereby disrespecting party supremacy which we were forced to respect during his nomination as the deputy governorship candidate of our party.

What baffles me so much is that, the self acclaimed lover of Kogi state (Faleke) has not done anything good for the state. I never knew anybody exists as James Faleke until he was imposed on Kogi state chapter of All Progressive Congress as its deputy governorship candidate for November 21st, 2015 Kogi state governorship election. We all condemned the development but we were advised to respect party supremacy and accept him which we did as a sign of respect for our dear party, APC.

The embarrassing part of it is that since the inauguration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the Executive governor of Kogi state, Honourable James Faleke, a member, representing Ikeja Federal constituency has never seen anything good in Governor Yahaya Bello’s policies, thereby criticizing his person and policies on social media. So far, so good, neither Governor Yahaya Bello nor his Chief press secretary has responded to his attacks. That shows a sign of maturity on the part of the governor because he must be ready to accommodate everybody and their different levels of reasoning whether plausible or myopic.

If there is anything I must commend former governor Idris Wada for is the fact that he is matured enough to keep quiet as he awaits the judiciary to confirm Governor Yahaya Bello as the authentic governor of Kogi state. He had never one day come out in person to attack the present policies put in place by our God-sent governor. May be it is because he was once on that seat and he knew what leading a state is all about or probably because he knew all hope is lost.

Faleke once alleged that the governor has no PVC and the accusation was considered disturbing, malicious and misleading from the media office of the then governor-elect. Faleke had also came out in person lambasting the state governor, Yahaya Bello, over the impeachment of the speaker of the Kogi House of Assembly, denying the fact he (Faleke) is behind the chaos in the state house of assembly, thank God normalcy has come to stay and he (Faleke) has been put to shame. It is also laughable when Faleke refers to the inauguration of Governor Yahaya Bello as a civilian coup d’etat. I pity him because he never believes he could be eradicated totally in Kogi state.  He recently came out personally to condemn the government of Yahaya Bello, describing it as clueless, visionless, directionless and Brazen Obstinate. This was what prompted me to write this piece.

How could Faleke stay in one corner criticizing the government of Yahaya Bello that has brought normalcy, unity, hope, equity and justice to Kogi state? Doesn’t he have manner or fear of God at all? I beg Faleke to stop deceiving Kogi state with his unconstructive criticisms or face the wrath of God. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Ruling Kogi state is not by force. Faleke can try in his next life, not this one because he cannot reap where he did not sow. Faleke should not make me feel he is behind the death of Prince Abubakar Audu with the way he is mongering for power in Kogi state. He contested for Deputy, not governor. A word is enough.
