The Councillor representing Ejule/Alla Ward, Mustapha Ore, has threatened to harm supporters of the member representing Idah Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. David Idris Zacharias.
This is coming on the heels of the lawmaker’s recent defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to reports, Ore allegedly made the threats during a meeting held yesterday, where he was alleged to have arrived with a pistol and openly displayed it while allegedly threatening to unleash violence against supporters of Hon. Zacharias.
The development has raised serious concerns among residents and supporters of the lawmaker, particularly given the sensitive political atmosphere in the area.
A source close to Hon. David Idris Zacharias said as a law-abiding citizen and public office holder, he is expected to formally report the alleged threat to the appropriate authorities and allow the relevant security agencies to investigate the matter and take necessary action.
The source called on appropriate authorities to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, regardless of their political affiliation.
