Hon. Umar Muhammad Bako, has been sworn in as the new Secretary of Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The event which took place at the Council Secretariat in the Local Government Area headquarters, Koton Karfe, was amidst fanfare and happiness among the people of the area.
The Chairman of Kogi Local Government Area, Hon. Musa Abdulmalik, in his speech, advised the newly sworn-in secretary of the local Government, Hon. Umar Muhammed Bako to make himself a bridge builder in bringing peace and development in the area.
The Chairman stated this on Monday, during the swearing-in of Council Secretary and Special Advisers, at the council secretariat, said the local government is in desperate need of peace.
He said the absence of peace has retarded development in the area.
The Kogi Council boss equally urged other appointees to be loyal to the Party’s structure and also think of what they can do positively to people of the area and not themselves alone.
Responding, the newly sworn-in Council Secretary, Hon. Umar Muhammad Bako, promised to always support and initiate ideas that would enhance the development of the Local Government Area for the benefit of the people.
He however urged party leaders in the area, to join hands together with the Local government towards achieving the much desired development.
Dignitaries at the occasion, include the Members Representing Lokoja1 and Kogi State constituencies, Hon. Ebaiya and Maikudi, commissioner for Water Resources, Engr. Yahaya MD Faruq Commissioner for water resources as special guest of honour, Hon. Tijjani Chairman ANAN Kogi State Brach, the council treasurer and Matawalle of Koton Karfe, Hon. Yusuf Ohikura.
Earlier, Umar Mohammed Bako had impressed Kogi State lawmakers during his screening as Local Government Secretary at the state House of Assembly.
His exceptional presentation earned him a nod, and he was asked to take a bow.
Bako during his presentation at the hallowed chamber of the Assembly, emphasized the crucial role council secretaries play in local government administration, promising to support his chairman and serve the people of Kogi Local Government Area diligently if confirmed.
