Having realized the global reality of agriculture being the bedrock for economic growth, The current administration in Kogi State, under the leadership of Alh. Yahaya Bello appointed Hon. Kehinde Oloruntoba, the Commissioner for Agriculture and he has since continued to intensify efforts in the agriculture where it has comparative ecological and socio-economic advantages.
This effort is now paying-off, as it is aiding government efforts of unlocking the agricultural potentials of the state, guarantying food security, ultimately opening up employment and investment opportunities with improved social welfare. No doubt, the ministry is excelling in its aggressive pursuit of agricultural developments.
Despite the unprecedented achievements recorded so far in his ministry, Hon. Oloruntoba is also a grassroot and community development enthusiast through his unparalleled commitment, sheer understanding of news and yearnings of people at the grassroot and active participation in rural developmental efforts.
Hon. ‘Toba, who believes that once education is sought out, all other things become easier and in a bid to also ensure that no child is left behind regardless of his/her economic background, paid WAEC fees of indigent students of Kiri High School in Kabba/Bunu LGA.
He equally gave out scholarship award to ten (10) indigent students of Kabba/Bunu origin in Federal University, Lokoja. #50,000 each.
To further enhance academic performance of student he also organizes Summer Extra-moral classes to JSS3 and SS3 secondary school students in Kabba and Lokoja town respectively. He donated 5,000 exercise books to be distributed to students across Kabba/Bunu LGA and procurement of school uniforms to all primary school pupils in Kiri axis of Kabba/Bunu LGA as part of his gesture of support for the giant strides of the governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello in education.
In the area of community development, he sponsored the construction of boreholes in Okedayo Kabba (which has since been completed), while those of Akutupa and Aiyetoro Kiri communities respectively are currently being delayed by the ongoing road construction.
He distributed bags of rice to community groups and deserving individuals in Kabba/Bunu LGA.
Apart from the above, Hon Oloruntoba has on many occasions offered financial donations to community associations, student union bodies and countless individuals.
This achievement could easily be attributed to the ingenuity, determination, doggedness and passion of Hon. Oloruntoba in improving quality of life of his people.
