Testimonies the say are counsellors. Thus, the testimonies greeting the ear of many as well as the reality of things happening in Kogi State over the past ten months when compared with previous administrations calls for concern. For the purpose of objective criticism and accurate allegation, a quick check into basic education, security and civil servants welfare has lot of records to set straight.

Unarguably, education without a senior secondary school certificate(WAEC or NECO) is like deodorant harbour which stinks with smell. For this and other humane motives, the administration of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris took responsibility and all through his government paid the WAEC fees of Kogi State students and Capt Wada sustained this act till the last year of his administration. With the present economic recession in the country coupled with the high life in Kogi State, the number of students who shall due to fund not sit for the WAEC examination this session are better imagined than said.

Talking about security, gone are the days when people sleep with two eyes closed in Kogi State. However, for the benefit of contemplation, the major characteristic of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris led government in Kogi State was empowerment of youths under the aegis of many youth groups, development schemes and the poverty alleviation program. In fact, his strides in this facet shall remain unrivalled. On his path, Capt Idris Wada introduced the Kogi Youth Advancement and Development program popularly referred as “YAD4” and no lesser than ten thousand youth were trained in lucrative business/handworks through this scheme.

Of course, the idol mind is a devil’s workshop and the inability of the new direction government to come up with any youth engagement enterprise less than quarter to a year into his administration could be one of the cause of rising crime rate in the state. Hence, ideas must be developed for youth empowerment and development so as to have a state free of youth waywardness before “bet9ja”, stealing, kidnapping etc takes over the mentality of our teeming youth population.

More so, the peculiar practice of every new government in Kogi State has always been screening exercises to ascertain the actual number and wage bill o legitimate workers. Unfortunately, in the reign of Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s led government of Kogi State, the worst form of hardship is been experienced. It is unimaginable fathoming the ill empathy that has caused poor civil servants and old suffering pensioners into ruins cum trouble puzzles as a result of non payment of their earns, bank switching, highway accidents and other notorious circumstances that has been occurring in link with the exercise.

At this point, the above premises can justify that-“So Far, Governor Yahaya Bello Has Truncated Basic Education, Security and Civil Servants Welfare In Kogi State”. But, like it is in the words of Madiba Nelson Mandela~the time is never late to do the right thing. I wish to implore all those within the structure of the state to vision beyond social media shoe off which has become endemic through their self styled digital languages and Lion likening metaphor to deliver good governance to the good people of Kogi State.

Lastly, I call on the governor himself to as a matter of urgency reach out to resourceful quarters and find ways of addressing WAEC fee difficulties, youth engagement in proactive enterprises as well as payment of salaries and pension pending the final conclusion of the staff verification and screening exercises.
