Member House of Representatives (Lokoja/Kogi), Hon. Shaba Ibrahim has organized information technology skill acquisition training, in conjunction with National Biosafety Management Agency, for some members of the constituency.

Speaking at the commencement of the training session, Hon. Shaba Ibrahim, who was represented by Hon. Isah Angulu Umar, said the exercise became important due to economic realities of the day and the need to explore other skills for diversifying the economy and reduce unemployment in the constituency.

The training, according to Umar, was part of Hon. Shaba’s campaign promises to the people of Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency and advised beneficiaries to share the experience of what they learned with others.

He disclosed that his target was to make the youths self-reliant and become employers of labour rather than job seekers, noting that the most successful men and women all over the world had their roots in IT business. He urged them to take advantage of the exercise and equip themselves ahead of future.

“I urge you to take the advantage of the programme to equip yourselves against economic realities caused by the dwindling economy in the country,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Comrade Gowon Yakubu thanked the lawmaker for initiating an IT training scheme in less than three months in office as member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal constituency.

He assured the lawmaker of their determination to use the newly acquired skills for self reliance.

Highlights of the programs include presentation of HP laptop to beneficiaries by Hon. Isah Angulu Umar a.k.a Omis.
