What Happened

Preliminary investigations indicate that the attack stemmed from a domestic dispute after the victim burnt some of the suspect’s clothes, which she believed he no longer needed, without seeking his permission beforehand. In response, the suspect reportedly threatened his wife before fetching petrol from his motorcycle and setting her on fire.
The victim survived the attack and is currently receiving treatment at Honey Gold Hospital in Felele. Her condition has not been publicly disclosed.

Police say the suspect admitted to the act in a statement given to investigators. The Command has since launched a comprehensive investigation to establish the full circumstances of the incident and gather further evidence ahead of prosecution.
