The Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor on Private and Public Partnership (PPP), Prince (Hon.) Jambright Sumanu has called on Okun people of the state to shun unhealthy political rivalry.
Prince Sumanu made the appeal in an exclusive interview with The Graphic in Lokoja. He said for the area to enjoy rapid economic developments the people must come together and support their political leaders.
He opined that it is a rare privilege for the people to have the Deputy Governor Arc Yomi Awoniyi, Senator Smart Adeyemi, Hassan Salau at the political helms in the state and advised the people to harness this advantage to attract more dividends of democracy.
Fielding question on the contentious issue of political zoning of power in the area, he advised the people to be careful as not to sacrifice good performance merits and capabilities on the military zoning arrangement adding that this should not be used in electing who will represent the people in 2015 general elections. Rather, it should be based on merit.
Prince Samanu further stated that he would support Senator Adeyemi if he decides to run for a third term in office which according to him is based on his performance.
He called on the people to support Senator Smart Adeyemi to enable him to do more for the people pointing out that with his achievements; he is qualified to run for third-term in office as even the present zoning arrangement does not negate his ambition.
While commending the governor of the state for his exemplary achievements he called on the people to support his administration in order to take the state to an enviable height and for appointing sons and daughters of the area to sensitive posts in his administration.
