Senator Ahmed Ogembe (PDP Kogi Central) has mourned the passing away of an Islamic scholar, Sheikha Inya Sayida Bilikis Inyas whose sad event took place on Saturday at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja.
In a statement made available to newsmen by his media aide in Abuja, Ogembe who is said to be currently out of the country for two weeks Easter recess, has described the demise of the octogenarian Islamic scholar as most painful and sad.
Sayida Bilikis Inyas was the wife of a renowned global Islamic leader Sheikh Ibrahim Inyas.
“She was a virtuous woman who gave her all to her faith, a mother and a role model to all, and I believe that our people, especially, women would draw inspiration from her genuine commitment to the service of almighty Allah and humanity.
“Inya Sayida Inyas was an uncommon courageous woman, who despite the enormous opportunities available to her demonstrated humility in the service, teaching and propagation of Islam was her priority, the same attribute her husband  was known to posses,” Ogembe said.
He called on Muslims from the central senatorial districts to take solace in the fact that only God gives and takes life as he desires, asking the admirers of the late scholar to uphold the principle of truth, courage, and humility for which late Inya Sayida was known for.
The senator said her passing away at this time is very painful, “we will miss her greatly” and prayed that Almighty Allah grant the departed al janah fridaus and blessings for those she has left behind.
