Former President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Moses Bello has awarded academic scholarship to 100 indigent students in Kogi Central senatorial district to study in various schools and institutions in Nigeria.

The retired jurist gave out the awards on Saturday at the 17th edition of his annual educational scholarship programme for indigent students.

In his keynote address, Justice Bello assured that he will continue to give hope to students, especially the less privileged, by encouraging and supporting their educational pursuits.

“My wish is to see some of the beneficiaries return this gesture by assisting the less privileged in the nearest future. I charge every parent to take their children’s tuition fees as one of their major priorities,” he said.

Justice Bello’s scholarship initiative started in 2003 and has sponsored hundreds of students to various schools and institutions of learning.

At the event, member representing Adavi-Okehi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Joseph Asuku Bello, presented an employment letter, for a job he helped to facilitate, to Tijani Anikajogu Ibrahim, an indigene of Okehi LGA.

The federal lawmaker paid WAEC registration fee for 17 students from Government Unity Secondary School, Oboroke in Okehi LGA.
