The Kogi State Justice Party (JP) governorship candidate, in the just concluded gubernatorial election, Mrs Aisha Abubakar Audu, has filed a suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja challenging the election of Alhaji Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the December 3, 2011 governorship election in Kogi state for non inclusion of her party logo on the ballot papers used for the election.

Aisha and the Justice Party named the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and its Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega as co-defendants in the suit.

The plaintiffs want the court to declare that the non inclusion of the Justice Party logo on the ballot papers was an unlawful exclusion of the party and its candidate from participating in the election.

They further asked the court to declare that INEC’s action was an act of gross negligence and thereby subjected them to abysmal humiliation, untold hardship, psychological torture and degradation.
