Hon. Hassan Omale, the member representing Ankpa/ Omala/Olamaboro federal constituency of Kogi State, in the House of Representatives, has pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to consider the importance of the completion of Bagana/Guto Bridge across River Benue at Bagana in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State, which is the only link to over 15 states in the country, to mobilize the contractor to site.
The lawmaker disclosed that the bridge for which the contract was awarded over 10 years ago was meant to link Kogi, Nasarawa, Eastern and South South states to Abuja was abandoned when the job had reached over fifty percent completion.
He said the project which was meant to be Public, Private Partnership project would benefit motorists from Eastern and south/ South flank of the country was abandoned without explanation to the people when the job has reached advance stage.
Omale who made this appeal while speaking during a briefing of officials of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and newsmen over his constituency projects, said the construction of the bridge has become imperative to reduce the burden of commuters and motorists from the Middle belt, Eastern and South / south states going to Abuja the federal capital of the country.
He noted that the completion of the bridge would serve as a major link between the north and the south, adding that it would also boost the economic well being of the people of the constituency.
Omale added that the construction of the bridge would further attract development to the communities in the environment advising the president to bring all those responsible for the stoppage of the job should be brought to book to demonstrated his commitment to war against corruption.
The House of Representatives member however said he had executed some constituency projects that were aimed at bringing further development to the area and change the lives of the people.
