Olamaboro local government disciplinary committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has recommended outright removal of the party chairman, Hon Yakubu Mohammed, alias OC.

This was part of the recommendations contained in the report submitted by the disciplinary committee signed by Yakubu Shuaib and James Ameh, chairman and secretary respectively.

Other members of the committee who signed the report were Barr. R. O. Shaibu, Mr James John, Mrs Fatima Jibrin, James Apeh and Daniel Ayegba.

The disciplinary committee also recommended that the embattled party chairman be debarred from holding any party office as enshrined in section 59(1) of the 2017 PDP constitution, as amended.

Also, the committee recommended that the suspended chairman, Yakubu Mohammed, be made to refund N700,000 to the Olamaboro LGA executives, being monies he collected from Barr. Kabiru Usman and Chief Kingsley Ilonah on behalf of the party.

The report explained that after his suspension on September 23, the disciplinary invited Yakubu Mohammed on two different occasions in line with the principle of fair hearing which he declined.

The committee added that from its investigations and various accounts, it was found that Yakubu Mohammed was culpable in all the allegations leveled against him.

“At a meeting held at Igah, Olamaboro Ward 4 on 28th September, 2024, in the presence of Joshua Adejoh, Hassan Abutu, Jimoh Haruna, James Apeh, and ward chairman from Olamaboro district, Yakubu Mohammed openly agreed and admitted to them that he collected such money in question and was ready to refund whatever was left. He was asked to go and plead with his executives to get a soft landing if possible but he refused to do so,” the report read in part.

Recall that Yakubu was suspended last month at the extraordinary meeting of the Olamaboro LG PDP executive meeting at party Secretariat in Okpo over allegations of gross misconduct and anti party activities.
