The North Central chapter of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a grassroots political support group, is set to convene a major solidarity rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Announcing the event, the North Central Coordinator of the movement, Amb. Omotowa Victor Opeyemi, confirmed that all arrangements have been finalized for the gathering, which will take place in Lokoja, Kogi State. The Confluence City will serve as the host location for delegates and participants arriving from across the states of the North Central geopolitical zone.

According to Amb. Omotowa, the procession is scheduled to commence at the Ganaja Junction Flyover, pass through the Government House area, and conclude at Amusement Park, Lokoja. He noted that similar rallies will be coordinated simultaneously across all six geopolitical zones of the country to express collective support for the current administration.

Highlighting the motivation behind the rally, the Coordinator emphasized that President Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated commitment to the North Central region through federal appointments. He cited key selections, including the appointment of Prof. Joash Amupitan as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, as clear indicators of the President’s trust in the region’s leadership.

“The President has been so generous to the people of the zone, North Central in particular,” Amb. Omotowa stated. “It is our time to tell the President that we are grateful, and that is why we are canvassing that if you give him another opportunity to consolidate on the beautiful reforms and achievements, we will benefit more dividends of democracy.”

Amb. Omotowa further addressed governance and security initiatives, pointing to the administration’s policy direction, including plans regarding state policing, as steps toward addressing security challenges in the country.

To sustain support leading up to the 2027 polls, the movement plans to launch a door-to-door awareness campaign throughout the region. Amb. Omotowa reaffirmed the commitment of the group—founded by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo)—to actively mobilize grassroots voters for the re-election of the administration.
