Ahead of the November 11th Governorship election in Kogi State, members of an Islamic group – the Organization of Muslim Unity (OMU) in Okehi Local Government Area have declared their unreserved support for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU)
The group made this known recently in Ihima, while paying a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Kogi State Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO), Hajia Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman who has been a member of the group for over two decades.
Chairman of the group, Immam Adam Ibrahim said they have engaged in several intercessory prayers for Alhaji Ododo ever since his emergence as the candidate of the APC, adding that the choice of the APC candidate is divine orchestration needed for consolidation of the gains of the current Administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Immam Ibrahim who conducted special prayers for a hitch free victory for Alhaji Ododo and his Deputy, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu however pleaded that religious organizations like OMU whose members have been fervently praying for the success of the government’s programme and policies should always be considered and recognized by the government.
Hajiya Hassiat thanked members of the OMU for their unceasing prayers, and assured them of the appreciation of the incoming. She added that the cordial relationship and respect accorded all religious organizations in the state by the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello would be sustained next year when Alhaji Ododo takes over as the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
Other Executives of OMU present at the courtesy call to Hajia Hassiat were the State Co-ordinator, Alh. Ahmed Salau Pharmacy, Alh Bashiru, Unit co-ordinator, Alh Muhammad Yusuf Al-Alla, Co-ordinator, and a host of others.
The highlight of the visit was the public endorsement and adoption of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman and Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu as the formidable and experienced candidates to continue the good legacies of the current administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
