As a vibrant legislator who believes in consultative representation, Hon. Emmanuel Makoji Egwu has performed far above average in this area.
Lawmaking as his primary assignment in the House of Representative, and as an active parliamentarian who has made robust, superb and meaningful contributions on the floor of the green chamber. Emma Egwu has within two (2) years sponsored several bills; some of which has passed second reading on the floor of the house. Several motions were also raised which has direct benefits to his constituency. Among which are;
(a) Need for the construction of Ajegwu – Idah – Onyedega – Otuacha Head Bridge Onitsha Road.

In the area of community development, Hon. The grading is ongoing in some part of the constituency but it is now on hold because of the raining season.
Existing but broken down boreholes have been repaired and rehabilitated within this period and arrangement is ongoing for the sinking of more boreholes in some communities within the constituency. As a restless leader, he’s also pursuing the completion of the abandoned health centres built by the federal government in the constituency. Interestingly, strong efforts are being made to ensure significant progress in the Ibaji – Otuacha head bridge road, which by the grace of God, captured in 2017 budget.
Because of his love for education, he has introduced a scholarship scheme to students from the constituency. There is also examination scholarship for best performing senior secondary school students in the mock examination, in which their WAEC and NECO fees were taken care of. He is also involved in the payment of school fees of indigent students in the constituency. Plans are ongoing to increase the numbers of beneficiaries as soon as the financial situation improves. He equally facilitated the construction of two classroom block for LGEA primary school in Angwa area of Idah, Kogi State.
Hon. Emmanuel Makoji Egwu, unlike previous Representatives, has facilated /assisted several graduates from his constituency in securing employment into Federal Government Agencies and Ministries, including the Central Bank of Nigeria, civil service, Para-military e.t.c. Many graduates from his constituency have been given letters of recommendation to several MDAs for employment. Several constituents were recruited and commissioned into the Nigerian Army, Air force, Navy and other security agencies. It will be unusual to mention names; however they are documented in the data bank.
Provision of social facilities: In the wake of high level of insecurity in the constituency, he organized a non-partisan security forum meeting at Grand Ibro Hotel Abuja to discuss how to reduce the rate of criminality in the four LGAs which snowball into the formation of a vigilante group to curb the security challenges in the Federal Constituency. For efficiency, he donated an 18 seater bus to facilitate movement within the constituency and cash donation in millions of Naira for administrative and logistics cost. However, this initiative was aborted by people who believed it was political. This of course is highly unfortunate and regretted.
