National President, National Association of Okun Students (NAOS), Comrade Adeyemi Babarinde Sunday, has called the federal government to quickly repair the Kabba-Omuo Ekiti road.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Mopa on Monday, Babarinde noted that the deplorable condition of the section of the road along Ikoyi community in Ijumu local government of Kogi state, calls for urgent attention.

He decried pains endured by residents and commuters plying the road that links Kogi and Ekiti states on a daily basis.

“The road has become a source of worry to the Ikoyi-Ijumu community and road users, especially those travelling from Kogi to Ekiti and vise versa. They spend several hours on the road because of its poor state. Also, the poor state of the federal highway has inauspiciously affected economic activities in the area.

“Every year, with the coming of the rains, the road gets worse and this year is no exception as several portions are impassable, forcing motorists to seek alternative routes to their destinations. Rural farmers are also suffering,” he said.

Comrade Babarinde appealed to the federal government to expedite action on the road to ameliorate the sufferings of the people.
