Ogbulu Village Chief Grieves Over Faulty Transformer

The Medugu of Ogbulu Community in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, Chief Attah Idakwo, has expressed sadness over the electricity transformer which started malfunctioning and eventually packed-up since about two years ago.

Speaking with this reporter at Ugwolawo recently, the village chief said efforts by the community to make financial contributions to repair the transformer failed as it has gone beyond repair.

Chief Attah Idakwo called on the executive chairman of Ofu Local Government area, Hon. Ahmodu Ibrahim, and the National Assembly Member representing Idah Federal Constituency, Hon. David Zacharias as well as Kogi State Government to assist the community with new transformers.

Also speaking with this reporter, the Amana Achadu at Ogbulu, Chief Yakubu Joseph Achimugwu, said Ogbulu Community have spent over N500, 000. 00 on the failing transformer but it could not be repaired.

He said the community also applied directly to the electricity distributors company for assistance but it has not yielded any result, appealing that the community will greatly appreciate it if the state or local government can come to their aid.

The traditional ruler also called on security men to help check the activities of unscrupulous boys in many communities of Igala land who have ganged up to steal cashews from peoples’ farms and stores.
