The Asiwaju Connect Group has reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots mobilization, political enlightenment, and progressive governance, urging political stakeholders to focus on verifiable achievements and issue-based engagement ahead of upcoming elections.
The resolve was made during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting in Lokoja, where members converged to deliberate on the developmental trajectory of Kogi State and the nation.
Addressing the gathering, Prince Hillarioncollins Musa, Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, highlighted the administration’s developmental strides and tasked stakeholders with taking the government’s message to the grassroots.
Musa pointed to ongoing investments across critical sectors, including security, agriculture, healthcare, education, and economic development. He noted that official state project logs record major capital works such as road networks, the Lokoja Ultra-Modern Market, and the Kogi International Airport, alongside development-partner interventions in rural infrastructure and livestock management.
“The people of Kogi State deserve to be presented with clear facts regarding the direction of governance,” Musa stated, emphasizing that voters should assess documented achievements, policies, and projects when making political choices.
He added that the combined development initiatives of Governor Ododo’s administration and the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu provide a solid foundation for continued civic engagement.
In its resolutions, the group agreed to intensify peaceful grassroots mobilization and political communication. Stakeholders pledged to advocate for President Tinubu and APC candidates, including supporting the reelection bid of Governor Ododo, while emphasizing respect for the final mandate of the electorate.
The group cautioned against divisive rhetoric and misinformation, urging political actors to ground campaign activities in public interest and verifiable governance records. It also called for heightened unity and stronger coordination among All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders across all communities in Kogi State.
