NYSC Corp Members Enjoy Improved Accommodation at Kogi RACs Centre

The Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kogi, Mrs Oludolapo Ahile, said it has distributed mattresses to corps members deployed for the general elections in the state.

A statement by the Coordinator on Kogi NYSC Twitter handle said: “Matre Arrive RAC CENTRES. The State Coordinator Mrs Oludolapo Ahile has encouraged the welfare of corps members with the arrival of mattresses from the orientation camp to the RAC centres in Kogi State’.”

Mr Adedapo Tayo, the Asst. Director, Public Relations, NYSC, told NAN that the state coordinator had fulfilled her promises to improve the corps members welfare in the state during elections.

According to Tayo, mattresses at NYSC orientation camp in Kogi had been sent to various RACs at ward levels to enable the corps members get a befitting accommodation and improved welfare.

He said that the state coordinator had earlier on Friday at the NYSC state headquarters, encouraged the corps members to be patriotic and apolitical in the elections.

Tayo assured the corps members of their adequate security, stressing that the scheme had been reassured by the security agencies of their safety.
He added: “NYSC is committed to the welfare and plight of the corps member”.

Meanwhile, a visit by NAN Correspondent to RACs centres at Ward 06 and 10 in Orokere, Mopamuro, showed that the corps members were having enough mattresses to lay their heads.

One of the corps members, who spoke to NAN on condition of anonymity, commended the NYSC for the gesture.

“We commend the NYSC for the improved welfare for us, but there are no mosquito nets at our RAC centre,” he said.
