The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, has called on Igala sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora to sustain their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general and gubernatorial elections.

The Deputy Governor made the call on Saturday when members of the Igala community in Lafia, Nasarawa State, turned out in large numbers to welcome him during his visit for the North Central APC campaign flag-off rally.

He thanked the community for the warm reception, noting that their turnout showed the unity and solidarity the Igala people are known for.

Comrade Joel Salifu urged the people of Igala/Bassa land to support the APC because of its programmes and development plans, cautioning them against diaspora politicians who remember the grassroots only during election periods.

He said aligning with the government at the centre and supporting its development agenda would create more opportunities for the Igala people to participate in governance and benefit from the development efforts of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo.

The Deputy Governor also urged eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and ensure their votes count in the forthcoming elections.
