NNL Preview: Abubakar Calls for Kogi United’s Total Focus Against Kada City

As the Nigeria National League, NNL enters matchday 15 across the country, pick of the games will be the encounter in Group A2 between Kogi United and group leader Kada City on Saturday in Lokoja.

The match will take place at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja by 4pm.

United is making a return to league action after two weeks’ absence to engage in the Aiteo Cup group stage matches.

The Coach Tunde Abdulrahman led Kogi United are expected to put all their energies into remaining NNL games after their disappointing Aiteo Cup group stage exit.

Assistant Coach of Kogi United, Musa Abubakar while addressing the players on Friday ahead of the Kada City said all focus and determination are needed to prosecute their remaining games to achieve the club’s targets of playing in the top flight next season just as he charged his boys to be ready for a tough games against the Group A2 leaders.

“We have put the Aiteo Cup exit behind us and we are now facing the league (NNL) squarely, so I expect us to give all our remaining games total focus and determination needed, let’s build on the experiences gathered from Aiteo Cup and use it to help our league ambition.

“We know Kada (City) game will be tough but we have a target to achieve and we must make sure we put everything into it to make it happen,” he said.

Captain of Kogi United, Musa Stephen echoed his coach’s position on the club’s targets of the season just as he promised his colleagues’ resolve to give qualify for the playoffs.

“We are building on the Aiteo Cup experience to give the league all it takes, it’s what we have promised ourselves, the club and the government and we will give Kada match with rest of our remaining games all it need to actualize our target.”
